The Beauprez folks must have changed it already. All I see on the “About Bob” page about his education is this:
And I guess the blog is gone. It didn’t allow comments anyway, so maybe it morphed into the “Newsroom” section.
Maybe the godly Rocky Mountain News made a mistake?

When you’re a ‘do nothing congressman’ trying to fool voters so you can be a ‘do nothing governor’ you have to make it up as you go along. So what if it ain’t the truth? Both Ways Bob has been playing these games so long he doesn’t know how to campaign any other way.
Wow, if they indeed did stretch the truth about his degree, they certainly got rid of it fast. Sounds pretty shady to me, and certainly doesn’t look good for BB.

I found a couple articles through Google that also claim Bob has an Education degree from CU. So either he’s been fibbing for a few years, or our assumptions are wrong.

Depending on whom you believe, Marc Holtzman has either a B.A. or a B.S. in Economics from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania. The way he words it on his website is fascinating, however.

Again, colorado pols shows its anti-beauprez bias. I think this is the reasons many republicans ignore this site. This report is disgusting.

Well, I think many of us can agree that the ULTIMATE degree in anti-prestige is Political Science.
As a graduate of the University of Colorado with said degree, I can assure that it really isn’t worth the price of “a side of fries with that?”

Just a little friendly advice to the younger readers on this site, a degree in Economics is probably a little more marketable in “The Real World.”
We should check out the granted degrees from CU at the time he graduated – my guess is the education school (if there was one then granting the degree) was granting BA’s in Education, not in a particular subject like PE or k-12 or history, etc… Also, I had a friend that was a PE or gym teacher, she went into sales, then to Microsoft where she became a VP for IT – she made millions. Don’t dis on peoples education and what they make of themselves that is a disappoining approach.
I suppose ethnic studies was created so that every other degree would have something to look down on! Ward Churchill finally has a function.

I find it soooo ironic that Marc rails against CAFTA and free trade with the southern hemisphere, seems like he would embrace free markets according to his bio.

I dunno, Mario. My degree is in economics and I still have to work for a living. If I had it to do over again, I’d go computer science! Of course, in my college days, they were still using abacuses and slide rules.

For the record, I was not a Poli. Sci major. It was my minor, and though I can’t recall how I have used it these many years since accepting my sheep skin a Butler Hancock, it still remember fondly those lessons from Mustafah Dhada, Stan Masurana and Kalechi Kalu.
For me Army ROTC was the smartest college course I could ever take. I won’t mention how Bob was too good for ROTC himself though (it would just be rude, him being a Draft Dodger and all).
By the way gang, I got a very funny call from the Beauprez campaign this evening. I’ll share it with everyone Wednesday.
Lehigh is in Bethlehem, PA, and it has a good reputation for at least some of its programs. Not sure about its economics program, but my guess is it’s just average. Mark’s degree should be listed as a B.A. – it’s the only flavor the Economics program produces there.

Mikey D, are you suggesting a direct correlation between the emphasis of one’s college degree and success in our economy? Bill Gates didn’t even graduate from college. Those holding degrees such as an MBA or a Juris Doctorate are much more likely to earn higher wages than those possessing a degree in POLITICAL SCIENCE. Further, students coming out of college with degrees in economics earn, on average, much higher wages than their fellow graduates. Not that an economics degreee is a requisite for success, but it certainly is not useless. An understanding of economics is actually quite applicable to the position of governor. I personally would be much more comfortable knowing that my governor understands the effects of market shocks on his constituents than the specifics of volleyball rules.
